Nurse Practitioner
Location: Kansas City Missouri
Description: Children's Mercy Hospitals & Clinics is employing Nurse Practitioner right now, this position will be placed in Missouri. Further informations about this position opportunity please read the description below. Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and examine new and established patients affected by cerebral palsy, and develop plans of care specific to their needs.
- Arrange a! ppropriate therapies, lab tests, and referrals for patients.
- Prescribe medication as needed.
- Evaluate patient’s developmental status and educational needs.
- Provide information and support for families regarding diagnosis, treatment and services
- Manage refills, adjustments and trouble-shooting for Intrathecal Baclofen pump.
- Develop and present educational programs for primary health care providers caring for children and adolescents with Cerebral Palsy.
- Advocate for child's educational, accessibility and equipment-related needs for home, school and the community.
- Educates families/caregivers, patients, and schools in the areas of neurological diagnosis, equipment needs, therapies and medications.
- Is actively involved in cerebral palsy research.
Master's Degree (MSN) / DNP Preferred
3 years experience in pediatrics or specialty preferred
Current license to! practice in Missouri and Kansas as a registered professional ! nurse
Current Nurse Practitioner certification
Current Documentation of Recognition from the Missouri and Kansas State Boards of Nursing that recognizes the individual as able to title, designate, represent, and practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Specialty Nursing Certification preferred
Skillful use of computerized information systems
