Overview
The Nurse Navigator reports to the Director of the Cancer Resource Center and is responsible for coordinating the care of patients with cancer ( breast cancer, lung cancer, head and neck cancer and general cancer). This role includes providing education and support to patients, family, staff and caregivers. The goals of this position include improving patient care and flow, eliminating barriers and improving the overall patient experience by connecting the patient and family with appropriate resources and services. This position will also work with the Registry to organize and coordinate cancer conferences. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Position Qualifications:
- We require a nursing degree from an accredited school.
- You’ll also need a current RN license in our state.
- Basic life support training should be completed in 90 days with advanced training required at certain intervals.
- Experience: Minimum of three years nursing experience
