Summary: Performs radiographic procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of techn! ical detail. She/he also performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis; assumes responsibility for designated areas of procedures as required, acts as Secretary when not taking x-rays. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities: % Of Time Spent (This will vary from center to center)
1. Performs radiographic procedures on patients in the UCC. Follows established protocols and procedures at the standard maintained by this organization. Documents and communicates results as per UCC policies. (15%)
2. Performs secretarial functions which may include but not limited to registration of patients, dispositioning and filing. (30%)
3. Delivers and assists in direct patient care to include but not limited to obtaining and documenting vital sig! ns. (40%)
4. Assists and demonstrates proficiency in ! performing lab functions which may include but not limited to collection of drug screens, drawing blood, rapid streptococcal screens, urinalysis, urine pregnancy test and filing reports. (10%)
5. Performs other work duties as assigned. (5%)

Required Experience:
Current Radiology certification. Previous radiology experience preferred. Excellent computer skills and customer service skills required.
The assessment, care and treatment provided will take into consideration the specific age related needs of the patient. The Radiology Technologist is competent to care for neonates/infants, children, adolescents, adults and geriatric adults groups.
Required Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must be a graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiological Technology and certified with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists.
Must meet continuing education requirements as man! dated by A.R.R.T.
Completion of BLS.
Compensation:Working Conditions:
Employee is required to sit occasionally, stand and walk frequently. Employee must lift/carry a heavy (50 lbs. +) load occasionally. Employee may be required to lift over 100 lbs. with assistance. Employee is frequently required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead. Employee is frequently required to reach forward and reach overhead. For repetitive action, employee is required to use both hands for simple grasping and pushing/pulling. Employee is exposed to the following environmental conditions Fumes, radiation, electrical hazards blood borne pathogens and CRT terminal work frequently.
(Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%)
The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
Job Relationships: Mem! ber of the UCC staff that interacts regularly with patients, physicians! , families and visitors and a variety of nursing and ancillary personnel.
Takes direction from: Nurse manager, Registered Nurse, Director of UCC
Provides direction to: radiology tech in orientation
Supervised by: Director of UCC, Nurse manager UCC
