Adult Inpatient Psychiatry II is a 21 bed, coed unit serving ages 18 to 49. We provide a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for stabilization, education, and transformation. Together, our skilled a! nd cohesive team members work to provide excellent patient care and encourage professional growth. With a staff of Board Certified Psychiatrists, Family Practice Physicians, Psychologists, Masters of Social Workers, Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialists, a Psychiatric Educator, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Psychiatric Technicians, and Unit Secretaries, we address all aspects of care. Our program is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and length of stay is individualized to meet each patient’s needs. The majority of our patients receive treatment on a voluntary basis, but we treat under involuntary holds, as well. Our patients must be medically stable and capable of benefiting from our interactive program to meet admission criteria.
Our unit is one piece of the larger Psychiatric Services division of CoxHealth, which also includes a second adult unit, child and adolescent unit, senior adult unit, and a team of psychiatric triage nurses ! working in the Cox North Emergency Department. Collectively, w! e staff 72 inpatient psychiatric beds to serve Springfield and surrounding areas, making CoxHealth the largest provider of inpatient psychiatry to all ages in Southwest Missouri.
MO RN license required. Previous Psych experience preferred.
