Our client, a leading supplier of transport, distribution and supply chain services, wants to appoint a Diesel Technician at their depot in Johannesburg. The successful candidate will be responsible primarily for inspecting, servicing and fixing larger trucks and equipment that operate on diesel fuel.
Duties:
· Travelling to various Clients for the repair and maintenance of Vehicles.
· Problem solving as required.
· Troubleshooting and fault-finding on vehicles.
· After hours standby (shift work).
· Attending to breakdowns as and when required.
· Scheduled and unscheduled service of vehicles.
· Planning/Coordinating servicing and repairs.
· Completion of job cards.
· Managing of stock and stock take.
· Meticulous execution of instructions given.
· Good communication skills.
· May be required to travel occasionally within South Africa
Qualifications
· Matric or equivalent.
· Qualified Diesel Mechanic Trade Test.
· Valid driver's license and own reliable transport.
Experience:
· Minimum 5 years’ experience in maintenance and repairs of mobile, truck and refrigerated transport vehicles preferred.
· Non-refrigerated transport vehicles and truck experience will also be considered.
· Strong electrical/electronic experience and background.
· Prepared to work shifts and including weekends.
· Willingness to attend to callouts after hours and on weekends.
· Must be fluent in English and Afrikaans.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: R40,000.00 - R60,000.00 per month
