As part of Patient Financial Services, Patient Registration (Admitting) is located throughout Barnes-Jewish Hospital. In addition to our patients being our customers, we have many other internal and external customers who depend on accuracy and promptness of the data and services we provide. Admitting Office Coordinators act to greet our customers and obtain data, which is then entered into the ADT or similar systems.
Role Purpose
Performs registrat! ion reporting functions including reconciliation of daily hosp! ital census, level of care and SMS patient type for accurate charging and volume reports. Works with other departments to research, analyze, and take appropriate actions to resolve discrepancies in data that is critical to financial and statistical accuracy. Responsible for systems and error control for all registrations including identification of system errors as they occur. May publish monthly Summary Quality Reports.
Responsibilities
Works to resolve discrepancies in registration data. Reviews patient status changes moving from inpatient to outpatient.
Reviews patient assignments and sets priorities.
Performs daily reconciliation of census.
