Description: St. Luke's Hospital - Missouri is at present recruited Certified Nurse Assistant-Surrey Place-D Wing PT Nights right now, this position will be placed in Missouri. Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the RN, the CNA is responsible for performing direct re! sident care such as ADLâs, ambulation, transfers and feeding. Is responsible for adhering to pertinent nursing standards and Surrey Place policies. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
Principle Accountabilities:
1. Performs resident care as follows:
a. Position resident
b. Assist with toileting
c. Applies ice packs
d. Assists with transfers, ambulation
e. Assist with bathing, oral hygiene, skin care etc.
f. Takes daily weights
g. Applies TED hose
h. Applies simple oxygen and change tanks
i. Perform VS and apical pulses
j. Assist with procedures
k. Report pertinent resident changes to nurse
l. Colostomy Care
m. Foley Catheter Care
2. Delivers residentâs meals and assists resident with feeding
a. Delivers trays to residents roomâs
b. Sets up food trays and assists with feeding patients
c. passes snacks
d. Passes wat! er on unit
e. checks meals for correct diet prior to servi! ng
3. Documentation:
a. Records input/output, consumption, VS etc.
b. Records all residentâs charges
c. Mark laundry to identify residents clothing
d. Utilizes Kardex
4. Equipment
a. Maintain cleanliness of equipment
b. Assist in inventory of supplies
c. Stock linen carts
d. Restock resident rooms
e. Operational knowledge of all equipment
f. Disinfects tubs/showers after each use
5. Responds to STAT situations and protocols as appropriate
6. Assists with admission, discharge and treatments
7. Sorts laundry appropriately
8. Environment
a. Keeps resident rooms, nursing station, halls etc. tidy
b. Report maintenance repairs
c. Empty trash in resident rooms.
9. Rounds on residents every 2 hours.
10. Attend inservices/education programs to maintain required continuing education.
11. Participates in OPOC
12. Assists with activities!
13. Performs other work duties as assigned.
Required Experience:
Geriatric experience preferred.
Basic math, writing and reading skills required.
The assessment, care and treatment provided by the staff will be consistent with the specific age related needs of the patient. The staff is competent to care for patient age groups including the adult and geriatric patient.
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent
CNA certified within 6 months of hire
Compensation:Working Conditions:
Employee is required to sit occasionally and stand frequently. Employee must lift/carry a light (1-20 lbs.) occasionally and medium (21-50 lbs.) load occasionally, with assistance. Employee is occasionally required to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, climb, lift waist to overhead. Employee is frequently required to reach forward and reach overhead. Employee is required to use both hands for ! simple grasping and pushing/pulling. Employee is occasionally exposed t! o electrical hazards and CRT terminal work. Employee is required to lift and carry supplies.
(Occasionally: 1-33%, Frequently: 34-66%, Continuously: 67-100%)
The most significant of duties are included but this does not exclude occasional work assignments not mentioned or developmental duties.
