As a valued caregiver:
The Staff Nurse (Registered Nurse) assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and supervises individual patient care according to standards. The Staff Nurse (Registered Nurse) accepts responsibility for direction of co-workers in the implementation of plans of care. Also provides exceptional service to all patients and customers. The Staff Nurse (Registered Nurse) must be able to perform all of the essential duties of the job. The Staff Nurse be able to communicate effectively,practice sensitivity and care management. Heartland’s caregivers are required to follow the RESPECT Counts Standards of Behaviors.
Skills of the Staff Nurse include:
- Ability to analyze patient needs.
- Develop and implement a plan of care.
- Oversee delegation of plan to other licensed and unlicensed personnel.
- Evaluate patient response to care, and! update care.
- Engage in teaching to achieve desired p! atient outcomes.
- Follow ANA code for nurses and standards of clinical nursing practice.
- Administer medications.
- Display emotional stamina (ability to perform an emotionally enduring activity for a period of time).
- Knowledge of current system computer programs.
- Problem solving, comprehension, interpretation skills.
High School Diploma or GED, ADN, or BSN from an accredited school of nursing required, BSN preferred.
LICENSURE:
Licensed in the State of Missouri or Kansas, depending on designated work location. BLS certification required .
