As a valued caregiver:
The Patient Care Tech assists with patient flow and performs vitals on patient previous to physicians’ visit. The Patient Care Tech assists physician performing certain special procedures. This position also assists with front desk duties as requested. This role requires effective communication, verbally and in writing. Heartland’s caregivers are reponsible for following RESPECT Counts Standards of Behavior.

Skills of the Patient Care Tech include: Assist patient flow in the office. Maintain examination room and equipment. Assist physician during physical examination. Place patient in examination room, records chief complaint. Document all vital signs and other relevant data. Perform EKGs. Comply with all regulatory agencies.

EDUCATION:High school diploma or GED. Completion of:

• an Unlicense! d Assistive Personnel training program in the last three years! , or
• a fundamentals of nursing course, or
• a certified nursing assistant program, or
• a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program who did not pass the state licensure examination in the past three years or a graduate of a professional or practical nursing program outside the United States and awaiting licensure in this country.

LICENSURE:
Certified medical assistant preferred. BLS certification required.
