Pediatric Hem/Onc Directorship Have the full support from a 1,100 bed regional medical center, their entire physician network, and t! he nationally known St. Jude’s Children Oncology program to start and establish a Pediatric HemOnc program in a 750,000 person service area that is void of Pediatric Oncologists. Currently, patients must travel 4 to 5 hours for Ped Oncology specialty care. Construction is underway for the new Ped Oncology space in the Children’s hospital located on the main medical campus which already has 28 pediatric beds, 12 PICU beds, 26 NICU beds, and utilizes Electronic Medical Records.
The Ronald McDonald House being built in the hospital is scheduled to open in 2010. The momentum is in full swing as the Nurses have already been trained in Oncology by St. Jude’s Hospital. You’ll have the option of an academic appointment and/or doing clinical research.
