**This posting is used to fill multiple openings located in Brainerd, MN**

This position will provide high level customer service to consumers enrolled in or applying for various Minnesota Health Care Programs such as Medical Assistance and MinnesotaCare. The incumbent is the primary telephone contact for enrollees, their representatives, other external stakeholders, and the general public, providing accurate guidance on a wide array of eligibility and enrollment questions for Health Care Eligibility Operations. This includes the ability to identify the best resource available for each applicant or enrollee and provide the appropriate guidance based on each individuals’ needs.

The incumbent serves in a high volume, fast-paced environment, with access to protected health information. This is the first step of a two-step career ladder that can lade to movement to a higher level of responsibility of the Health Insurance Program Representative 2.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years of customer service experience.
  • Ability to administer policies, procedures, and systems used to make eligibility determinations.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate multiple software applications, databases, as well as possessing data entry skills.
  • Ability to use math skills to calculate income using multiple sources of documentation.
  • Strong customer service skills and effective oral and written communication.
  • Ability to read, speak and write English well enough to understand, apply and explain complex eligibility policies.
  • Quickly adapt to changing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work within a high volume, deadline-orientated, and accuracy-focused program where performance and production standards must be met.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with a strong work ethic and demonstrated record of regular attendance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Health Care with an emphasis on Minnesota Health Care Programs.
  • Experience working within METS.
  • Experience using state mainframe systems such as MAXIS and MMIS.
  • Knowledge of Affordable Care Act.
  • Variety of experiences working effectively with others from different backgrounds and cultures.
