Senior Adult Inpatient Psychiatry is a 14 bed, coed unit serving ages 50 and above. We provide a safe, structured, and therapeutic environment for stabilization, education, and transformation. Together, our skilled and cohesive team members work to provide excellent patient care and encourage professional growth. With a staff of Board Certified Psychiatrists, Family Practice Physicians, Psychologists, Masters of Social Workers, Certified Therapeutic Recreational Specialists, a Psychiatric Educator, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Psych! iatric Technicians, and Unit Secretaries, we address all aspec! ts of care. Our program is based on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and length of stay is individualized to meet each patient’s needs. The majority of our patients receive treatment on a voluntary basis, but we treat under involuntary holds, as well. Our patients must be medically stable and capable of benefiting from our interactive program to meet admission criteria. This program is designed for senior adults who have maintained a high degree of functioning prior to the onset of psychiatric symptoms. These patients typically are admitted from their homes, nursing homes or assisted living facilities, and can usually return there after a brief hospital stay. The most common diagnoses are affective disorders such as depression, anxiety and bipolar disorder.
MO RN license required. Previous Psych experience preferred.
