Children’s Mercy Hospitals and Clinics - Department of Pediatrics, in affiliation with the Univers! ity of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, is seeking a physician to serve as Medical Director for its Weight Management Program. Non-tenured academic rank through the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine will be commensurate with experience.

The Weight Management Program is within the Division of General Pediatrics and consists of a comprehensive multidisciplinary team. Role responsibilities will be shared with a Director of Weight Management Psychological Services, an experienced pediatrician, pediatric nurse practitioners, and other dedicated professionals (visit www.childrensmercy.org/weightmanagement ).

Preference will be given to individuals with demonstrated excellence in administration, leadership, clinical care, research, and education. Candidates must have an MD or DO degree, or the equivalent; be board certified in a related discipline; and have, or be able to obtain, Missouri and Kansas medical licensure. The Medical Direc! tor’s roles will include providing administrative leadership! , research support, and clinical care in the Weight Management Program.

Additional leadership and research collaboration opportunities exist through the Center for Children’s Healthy Lifestyles and Nutrition (see www.chlnkc.org ), a partnership between the hospital and the University of Kansas Medical Center. The Weight Management program also promotes obesity prevention through an active community collaborative (see www.kcweighingin.org ).

Academic appointment is with the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine, where we are the primary pediatric teaching site for students, residents and fellows. Salary and academic rank are commensurate with experience. EOE/AAP
