Assists in the management of patient information across Advanced ICU Care Monitoring Center locations.

Cons! istently verifies patient census for assigned client hospitals.

Enters information appropriate for new admissions within 10 minutes.

Retrieves patient data from hospital's systems and enters it in eCM with speed and efficiency.

Reports "stat results” or "abnormal labs” to virtual ICU clinician in a timely manner.

Completion of Care Plan data points needed for Best-Practices and APACHE scoring

Provide direct support to clinical staff in the monitoring center with the clinical use of eCM.

Assists client hospitals with the use of eCM when necessary.

Demonstrates attention to detail with accurate, timely and complete data entry and retrieval.

Answers, prioritizes and directs phone calls in the Advanced ICU Care New York Monitoring Center.

Demonstrates positive customer relation skills as evidenced by the following:

Exhibits communication skills that facilitate interchange between healt! h care workers to provide quality patient care outcomes.
Superior interpersonal skills necessary to interact with Advanced ICU Care clinicians and hospital clients.

Professional phone etiquette.

Follows through with issues in a timely fashion.

Demonstrates enthusiasm and interest in response to requests and calls to the Advanced ICU Care Monitoring Center

Maintains a variety of databases, spreadsheet and project assignments.

Evaluates faxed information from clients and labels appropriately for review by Advanced ICU Care clinicians

Reports administrative problems, technical problems or suboptimal communication between virtual ICU and ICU health care professionals using a defined reporting process.

Provides assistance within job description responsibilities for other staff members as requested.

Exhibits communication skills that facilitate inter! change between health care workers to provide quality patient care outcomes.

Effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact with virtual ICU clinicians.

Confidentiality

Maintain confidentiality and privacy with regard to patient, team member and organizational issues.

Skill Requirements

High! School diploma or equivalent.

Knowledge of medical terminolog! y and laboratory data required.

Past experience as a patient care technician, hospital unit secretary is desirable.

Strives to continuously build knowledge and skills

Demonstrates dependability, reliability and flexibility.

Proficiency with Windows-based computer skills, telephone and fax operations.

Evidence of collaborative practice with nurses and physicians.

Evidence of effective communication skills.

Must be comfortable working in a fast paced environment; ability to multi-task, and possess good organizational skills.

Able to read and interpret written information.

Writes clearly and informatively

Must meet the Data Specialist competency assessment/skills checklist requirements within 3 months of employment.
