Position Summary Monitors and coordinates patient care activities within the Nuclear Medicine departments to optimize patient care and comfort. Assist in the performance of a variety of Nuclear Cardiology Stress testing including Treadmill and Pharmacologic stress tests. Documenting , ordering medications in EPIC and communicating with the supervising physicians on all aspects of the stress testing. Functions within the scope of nursing preparation and consistent with the established guide! lines of nursing practice, the goals of Mercy Health System, t! he Philosophy of the Sisters of Mercy, the Missouri Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Professional and Business Ethics and the Employee Code of Conduct. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards. Assists the physician in the treatment of patients and completes related clinical paperwork. The incumbent in this position shall carry out his or her responsibilities and integrateinto his or her work ethic the Mercy Philosophy of caring for the sick and suffering, respect for human life and the dignity of each person, applying Christian values to all crucial human issues in the area over which he or she has responsibility. In communicating with patients, families, visitors and employees, a caring, friendly, personal and professional approach is expected. Performs related duties as assigned. Employees of Mercy Health System are expected to comply with all federal, state and local regulations in addition to organization policy and procedures. This RN will be responsible for Supervising Nuclear Medicine Stress tests. This include Treadmill and Pharmacological. Work days Monday - Friday and rotating weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of a state approved School of Nursing; Diploma,Associate or Bachelor degree.

Experience: Dysrhythmia experience and certification.

Licensure: Current RN licensure with Missouri State Board of Nursing or current RN Missouri temporary work permit.

Certifications: Code Blue Completion and current certification. Must have a current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider card or complete a course within their probation period.! Must have a current ACLS card or complete an ACLS course within six mo! nths of hire date.

Other: Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Skill in assisting and performing Nuclear Cardiac Treadmill Stress testing and Nuclear Cardiac Pharmacologic stress testing procedures according to Departmental Policy. Must complete training of 100 cases of Exercise (Treadmill) Stress and 100 cases of Pharmacologic Stress testing. Maintenance of these procedures would require a minimum of 24 cases in a 24 month period. Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Must be able to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and policies. Must be able to communicate clearly and establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, staff and the public. Basic computer terminal and keyboard skills, or the ability to learn these skills, in order to access information and enter clinical data.Working Conditions, Mental and Physician Requirements: Stand and walk most of the time on duty. Meet unit specific physical demands. May! be required to work differing schedules, shifts, days of the week, or work frequency according to patient care requirements.
