Clinical Documentation Spec
Location: Crystal City Missouri
Description: Mercy is currently interviewing Clinical Documentation Spec right now, this job will be placed in Missouri. Detailed specification about this job opportunity kindly read the description below. Reviews inpatient medical records while the patients are still in house (concurrent review) for proper documentation. Review includes new admissions to the facility as well as re-reviews every two! to three days until patient is discharged. CDIS communicates with clinicians and physicians to ensure timely and accurate documentation and provides training and education as needed. CDIS will practice in accordance with CMS regulations and coding guidelines. Has frequent internal contact with physicians, nursing/clinical areas and coding services. This contact requires good oral and written communication skills. Handles confidential material consisting of patient medical records and verbal conversations. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: RHIA, RHIT, CCS or RN with minimum of 1 year coding experience in an acute care setting. Effective interpersonal skills in order to interact effecively with all levels of hospital personnel. Organization and prioritization skills. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Analytic skills. Proficie! nt computer skills.
Experience: Minimum of 1 year c! oding experience in an acute care setting.
Certification/Registration: RHIA, RHIT, CCS or RN
Other skills & knowledge: Previous experience in clinical documentation. Meditech proficient.
